The Academic Board has the obligation to supervise the development of the Institute’s academic activities, and reassure and maintain the highest standards of teaching, scholarship and research processes. A key responsibility of the Board is the design and review of Academic policies, guidelines and procedures; furthermore, the Academic Board provides quality assurance and monitors the effective implementation of all academic procedures. The Academic Board strives to constantly improving the Institute’s academic operation, by providing feedback through review processes scheduled on a regular basis.
Student Representation forms a vital part of the Academic Board Meetings, to ensure that our students rights and interests are heard and taken into account at all times.
Professor Jun Shen has profound experience in academic leadership and governance. He was/ is a member of Academic Senate, Chair of School Research Committee, Head of Postgraduate Studies, HDR Coordinator and Manager of PhD program, and Acting Chair of School Education Committee at University of Wollongong (UOW). He is a member of Academic Board at Australian Institute of Technology and Commerce (AITC). Professor Shen is also a registered TEQSA external expert.
Professor Shen is also an active researcher in multi-disciplines where computational intelligence, cloud and IoT, and data science, as well as general IS methodologies, are applied to solving real life problems. He has been engaged in many funded projects (supported by ARC/CRC, NSFC, UGPN, etc) and/or PhD level research topics ranging from AI in education, bioinformatics, intelligent transport, digital health and aged care, to humanistic applications such as arts, human resources, supply chain, media and regional communities He is also a frequent academic visitor to be hosted by top institutions such as MIT, UCI, GaTech, editing journals and chairing academic conferences. Prof Shen has supervised 22 PhD to completion, and he is taking 5-8 new PhDs every year. He was ACS/AIS MSIS2016 panel member and senior member of both IEEE and ACM. He obtained his PhD from Southeast University of China.

Professor A. G. (Tony) Shannon AM is an Adjunct Professor at several Australian universities and an Emeritus Professor of the University of Technology, Sydney, where he was Foundation Dean of the Graduate Research School and Professor of Applied Mathematics. Professor Shannon is on the Board of Trustees of the University of Notre Dame Australia and several Higher Education Institutions. In 1987, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to education.

Professor Geoff Morris has an extensive background in both the business world and in academia. He has spent almost 15 years in senior academic roles including Dean of Business at the University of Notre Dame, at Asia Pacific International College and at Polytechnic Institute Australia. Before joining academia, he had a successful business career involving senior leadership positions in public and private organisations including Sydney Water, Commonwealth Bank, HCF, Medibank Private, TAB and Australian Water Technologies. He has managed and delivered a number of large projects in Australia, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Geoff’ s home discipline is economics with a bachelors degree from Sydney University. This was followed by postgraduate qualifications in management, leadership and higher education teaching.

Professor Chanda has an extensive experience of leadership and management of companies with full turnover, P&L, management and operation responsibilities. In his career spanning more than 25 years, Professor Chanda has been a business professional and has led large corporations as a Chief Executive and at a senior management level with records of exceptional achievement. He has experience of managing varied industry including Education, Oil and Gas, Energy and Logistics with a diverse expertise in global leadership roles covering established and emerging markets. Dr Chanda has a PhD in Management from University of South Australia, Adelaide and has MBA and Law qualifications. He has authored six business books on business strategy, organizational performance, Strategies for going online and strategic HRM and numerous research papers.
